Project Profile: 2.96 MW DC BTC2

Maryland Community Solar

The 2.96 MW DC BTC2 Community Solar Project was awarded to TurningPoint Energy as part of the State of Maryland’s Community Solar Pilot Program. TPE developed the project and selected Nautilus as the long-term owner and operator, Cypress Creek Renewables as the EPC, and Arcadia Power to manage subscriber participation.

The project is the first of its kind in Baltimore County and had full local support from inception. It is one of three MD Community Solar Projects completed by TPE in 2019.

TPE and its partners:

  • Hired local: Local labor and subcontractors were used for legal, consulting, engineering, construction, and land development aspects of the project.
  • Supported the community: TPE has pledged to donate a total of $90,000 to local organizations in conjunction with the three MD projects, including Kingsville Elementary School, White Marsh Volunteer Fire Department, and Kingsville Fire Department.
