34 MW DC Alta Luna Solar Project
In 2014, Tri-State Generation and Transmission selected TurningPoint Energy to develop a 34 MW DC solar PV project. TPE secured D.E. Shaw, a $36 billion hedge fund, as the ultimate investor and counterparty to Tri-State. Committed to supporting the local communities of our projects, TPE and its partners:
- Hired local: Over 91% of all project labor was local, including over 30% in military veteran labor.
- Supported Local Businesses: The team used local hotels and restaurants for the project’s 200+ workers.
- Gave back: The team raised over $120,000 for local schools and non-profit organizations.
