1 MW AC Springer Solar 1 Project
Springer Electric selected TPE in 2014 to help it fully develop, build, own and operate a 1 MW solar power plant. After months of effort, TPE came to the conclusion that because Springer was a small rural cooperative, the most cost-effective means of ownership was inexpensive debt financing from its banks, avoiding the use of the federal solar investment tax credit.
- No ITC & Low-Cost Debt Financing: Springer Electric financed the system through over $2.5 million in funding provided by USDA Rural Development’s Rural Utility Service (RUS).
